The NSCN (K) has expressed its appreciation to the Nagas and the people of the Northeast for coming together with one voice in denouncing the forcibly enacted Citizenship Act.

The amended Citizenship Act is biased and hostile in nature and has uncloaked the hidden political ideology of the present government, stated a release issued by MIP in-charge, NSCN/GPRN, Lt Col. Joseph Lamkang.

The NSCN/GPRN alleged that the Citizenship Amendment Bill was specially amended to sideline and target others based on religious ground implying that Indian secularism is slowly dying.

“The Citizenship Act and other such similar acts which are likely to be implemented in the near future are bound to have adverse effect on our Western South East Asia (WESEA) region in particular viz politically, economically, culturally and religiously,” it added.

The bill will legalese and escalate the influx of illegal immigrants from neighboring countries, increasing the already overwhelming illegal population, it further said. “The result will dramatically change our regional demography beyond repair. As much as we opposed India’s hegemony over the Naga country, we oppose all her colonial policies and laws imposed on our people,” it maintained.

The release further said, “some of our elected Naga politicians has jumped to the conclusion by blindly supporting the bill without even consulting with the people they represent. They are exposing their political immaturity and short-sightedness. They had lost their credibility as elected leaders by trusting too much in the Modi government. They owe an explanation to the Naga people for their decisions.”

On August 5, the government of India revoked the constitutional autonomy of Kashmir, the guardian which protected the historical rights of the Kashmiris, it stated while adding tomorrow, it could be the Nagas, and the government of India will not hesitate to implement its tainted policies.

Further it continued, the reality cannot be denied, India’s long-term fascist policy is to completely assimilate and subjugate the Northeast region and wipe out the joint freedom struggle.

“Unless we are completely foreign sovereign, we will cease to exist as people. The present Indian laws will not protect our land, our identity and right to live as free and honorable people. For the last many decades, Indian intelligence and armed forces worked round-the-clock through their draconian laws and other black laws but failed to subdue our struggle,” it said.

The NSCN/GPRN, being the legitimate torch-bearer of the Naga struggle, “will go at any length to defend our right, our land and our people, and to implement that, the Naga army and it combat units are duty bound and capable of striking anywhere and at any time,” it added.
