Taking serious note on the false claim of scholarships by the students, the Naga Students Federation is compelled to issue an advisory to the students’ community to check rampant practices of corruption by way of falsely claiming scholarship. The Federation is of the strict view that only eligible and financially needy students should avail the Scholarship benefits and that any false claim by the students’ community is a direct practice of corruption.
The Federation will be launching a campaign under the slogan “No false claim on Scholarship,” whereby, the Federation invites positive response and cooperation in the mission from the students’ community to sign a pledge on ‘‘No to Corruption”. In this regard an extensive campaign will be launched across Nagaland where Students and the administrations of various institutions are informed to render their full cooperation for the success of the campaign.
The Federation directs every student to strictly adhere to the criteria laid down by the government and those whose parent’s income from all sources exceed Rs 2.50 Lakh per annum not to apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship. Students are hereby directed not to produce false income affidavit to claim the scholarship benefits.
It is in this light that the Federation directs all its federating units to facilitate the financially needy and Govt. School Students in applying the pre-matric scholarship scheme. The Federation informs all the eligible candidates that the Post-Matric Scholarship (ST), Nagaland Merit & Research Scholarship and NEC-Stipend & Book Grant for the academic session 2019-2020 will be live by 23rd July 2019 till 30th Sept. 2019 and the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for Scheduled Tribe students studying in class IX and X will go live (active) by 1st Aug ‘2019 till 30th Sept ‘2019 via Common Scholarship Portal, Government of Nagaland, under URL scholarship.nagaland.gov.in/
