KIGWEMA VILLAGE RECEIVES WILD LIFE CONSERVATION AWARD

Coinciding with the Wild Life Week celebration, the Kohima Wild Life Conservation Award Program was held on 3rd October 2019 organised by Kohima Forest Division, Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change.

Subongnukshi Ao IFS, special invitee, gave away the awards to the recipients. Kigwema Biodivsersity Trust (KBT) was awarded the Wild Life Conservation Award under the category “Green Communities” in recognition for their outstanding initiative in wild life conservation through community participation.

Vilphre Zhotso Forest Guard, Kohima Range received the “Green Warrior” award in recognition for his exemplary service to the Department; Ruokuovikho Chale, Chairman of the Kigwema Biodiversity Trust while receiving the award expressed his gratitude to the Department for the recognition and acknowledge the efforts rendered by the members.

DFO Kohima Rongsenlemla Imchen who chaired the program thanked the recipients for their contribution towards wild life conservation in the district. (DIPR)
