New Nagaland Governor R N Ravi called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Thursday. Mr Ravi, who was Modi government’s chief negotiator for peace talks, took over as the new Governor of the state on August 1. Notably, the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talk appears to have hit a roadblock after several rounds of talks spanning over 22 years if the latest statement from the NSCN (IM) is any indication.
In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the NSCN (IM) Chairman Q Tuccu and its General Secretary (Chief Negotiator) Th Muivah have expressed doubt in the sincerity of the Indian government to solve the Naga political issue and lamented that the talks that were supposed to take place at the highest level has been reduced to the governor’s level.
