NUNGBA AREA SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS CONDEMN INDIAN ARMY FOR DISMANTLING 3 HOUSES AT MONGJARONG KHULLEN (TAODAIJANG) VILLAGE, NUNGBA -SUB DIVISION.
In yet another incident, without any concrete reason, Indian Army dismantled atleast 3 paddy field hut (houses) located at Mongjarong Khunou (TAODAIJANG) village on 25 May 2019. It is reported that 3 locals including 2 minors namely-
- Sakulung aged about 71 years.
- Gaichamdin (class VI students)
- Nehemiah (class VI students) were used as a human shield to escort the Indian Army to the paddy field where three houses were located.
The Indian Army suspects the 3 paddy hut were a shelter to some suspected Underground Groups. However, the villagers denied the Army's allegation.The dismantled huts belongs to Mr.Gaithaipou, mr. Ningamlung, mr.Jonathan of Mongjarong Khullen respectively.
On being asked at Mongjarong Khullen, Company Commander of the 23 Assam Rifles Khongsang Outpost said that the incident - using 3 locals as human shield to escort them to the paddy field was done by an Indian Army Team coming directly from Leimakhong.
The social organizations of Nungba Area- RNCM, NAVAA, NAJAC, WOMEN SOCIETIES condemn such barbaric and indiscipline act of the Indian Army. The CSO once again question the working style of the Indian Army at peace zone and demand the higher authority for immediate disciplinary action against those Indian Army involved, failing which there will be a mass agitation said Athan Rongmei, President-RNCM Luangba Luangrian.
The CSO of Nungba Area appeal and expect the Indian Army to behave well and abstain from such barbaric and indiscipline act with the public in the peace zone. Such act creates a feeling of insecurity, loss of faith, mentle harassment and will only leads to non cooperation from the public against Indian Security Force in the future.
